Ignite Health Barcelona


This intense 4-month programme gives healthcare professionals, researchers and students an introduction to entrepreneurship and innovation in healthcare.

You will learn to follow the needs-led approach of the Stanford University Biodesign methodology in a hands-on programme that focuses on the medtech and digital health sectors. Your training will combine master classes on key topics and mentoring sessions provided by entrepreneurs and professional experts. You will also develop a business idea based on an unmet medical need in the fields of cardiology, pulmonology or COVID-19 intensive care.

Curriculum details

The programme is organised into four stages:

Kick-Off Event to build the teams and ideate a solution for an unmet clinical need. This need will serve as the basis for the rest of the programme.

Master Classes on key topics covering important areas, such as understanding healthcare systems, introduction to the medtech and digital health industry, prototyping, social entrepreneurship and market access.

Mentoring to integrate what you have learnt in the master classes to the project, including development of the solution, business model and pitch training.

Closing event during which your team will learn about next steps and possibilities to move forward with training or your project. This event will include inspirational talks with successful entrepreneurs of the Catalan ecosystem.
